Nethanna Sevalo for Handloom Weavers (Andhra Pradesh)
Nethanna Sevalo (also written Nethannala Sevalo) is the Andhra Pradesh government's support for handloom weavers. The head of every eligible weaver family that owns a handloom gets ₹25,000 a year, paid directly into the bank account.
What is Nethanna Sevalo?
The Andhra Pradesh government started Nethanna Sevalo on 7 August 2026 (National Handloom Day) at Chirala in Bapatla district. It gives ₹25,000 a year to each eligible handloom weaver family, up from ₹24,000 under the earlier Nethanna Nestham scheme. The rules are in G.O.Ms.No.187 (29 July 2026) of the Industries and Commerce (Handlooms and Textiles) Department.
Latest update
- 1st phase: on 7 August 2026 the government released about ₹179 crore for 71,536 handloom families.
- 2nd phase: 36,632 applications were received from weavers left out of the first list. Handloom officials are checking them with home visits, and the deadline for finalising the list was extended to 3 October 2026.
Who is eligible?
According to G.O.Ms.No.187:
- The money goes to the head of the weaver family who owns a handloom, whatever their age.
- One benefit per family, however many looms the family owns.
- The family must be below the poverty line (BPL), usually a rice card family.
- The family must actually weave on the handloom for a living and be in the Handlooms Department's database.
- You must live in Andhra Pradesh.
How are weavers selected?
- The Handlooms and Textiles Department prepares the list from its weaver database, re-verified through the village and ward secretariats.
- The list is displayed at your Swarna Grama / Swarna Ward secretariat for a social audit, so you can check your name.
- If your name is missing or wrong, ask at the secretariat or the Assistant Director (Handlooms and Textiles) office. Officials may visit your home to see your loom.
- After the District Collector approves the final list, ₹25,000 is credited by DBT to your Aadhaar-linked bank account.
