Stree Shakti Free Bus Travel (Andhra Pradesh)
Stree Shakti is the Andhra Pradesh government's free bus travel scheme. Since 15 August 2025, women, girls and transgender persons who live in Andhra Pradesh can travel free in most APSRTC ordinary and express buses anywhere in the state.
What is Stree Shakti?
Stree Shakti lets women in Andhra Pradesh travel without paying a fare in APSRTC buses. It was launched on Independence Day, 15 August 2025, and is expected to benefit about 2.62 crore women. Out of APSRTC's 11,449 buses, women can travel free in about 8,458.
Who can travel free?
- Women, girls and transgender persons who are residents of Andhra Pradesh.
- Travel is allowed from anywhere to anywhere within the state.

What to show the conductor
Show any one valid ID with an Andhra Pradesh address, such as:
- Aadhaar card
- Voter ID
- Ration card
- Driving licence
The conductor issues a zero-fare ticket. Keep your ID with you during the journey.
