What is PM-KISAN?

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a Central Government scheme that gives income support to farmers. It started in February 2019 and is fully funded by the Government of India. The money is paid through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), so it reaches the farmer's bank account without any middleman.

For the scheme, a farmer family means husband, wife and minor children who own cultivable land as per state land records.

Latest update

The 23rd instalment was released on 20 June 2026. Instalments usually come about every four months, so the 24th instalment (for August–November 2026) is expected in October–November 2026.

No official date yet (15 October 2026). Some news reports say the 24th instalment may come around 17–18 October, and a "20 October" date is being shared on social media. None of these dates has been announced by the government. The real date is announced by the Ministry of Agriculture (PIB) and on pmkisan.gov.in a few days before the release. Until then, make sure your eKYC, land seeding and Aadhaar–bank link are done.

On 31 July 2026, the Union Cabinet approved continuing PM-KISAN from 2026-27 to 2030-31 with an outlay of ₹3.15 lakh crore, so the ₹6,000 a year support will continue.
