PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana (Rooftop Solar)
PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana helps families put solar panels on their own roof. The Central Government gives a subsidy of up to ₹78,000, so a home can get up to 300 units of electricity a month from the sun and cut its power bill.

It is run by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) with your electricity distribution company (DISCOM). By July 2026 more than 50 lakh homes had installed rooftop solar under it.
