Fee Reimbursement & Post-Matric Scholarships (Telangana)
In Telangana, SC, ST, BC, EBC, minority and disabled students in colleges can get their tuition fee reimbursed and a monthly maintenance allowance through the ePASS portal. From 2026-27, the government says it will pay the money directly into students' bank accounts.
What is fee reimbursement in Telangana?
Under the post-matric scholarship schemes, the Telangana government reimburses the tuition fee of eligible students in courses after Class 10 (Intermediate, degree, engineering, pharmacy, PG and others) and pays a maintenance allowance. Everything is handled on the ePASS portal of the welfare departments.
Latest update (2026-27)
- Through G.O. No. 9 (June 2026), the government decided to credit the fee reimbursement directly to students' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts; students then pay their colleges.
- Private colleges challenged parts of this order. In July 2026 the High Court said colleges must admit students for 2026-27 without asking for fees upfront, and may collect fees directly only if the government misses its payment deadlines. The case is still in court.
- Colleges say about ₹2,800 crore of older reimbursement is still pending. There have been repeated college bandhs over these dues since 2024.
